MY SHENANDOAH (formally MY Golden Compass) represents a unique opportunity to take over a rebuild project at an early stage, in order to deliver to the new owner a tailored yacht to their tastes and needs.

The yacht is a 46-metre (151-foot) classic motor yacht built by the Italian shipyard Picchiotti in 1982, with exterior design and naval architecture by Arthur de Fever. Originally designed for long-range cruising, she has a steel hull, aluminium superstructure, twin Caterpillar diesel engines, and a top speed of around 13–15 knots. Shenandoah can accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, supported by approximately 10–11 crew, and has a range of around 3,800 nautical miles.

The yacht has great history and was awarded a Voyager’s Award at the 2012 World Superyacht Awards under its previous name of MY Golden Compass as it completed a 30,000nm ‘World Tour’ taking in some of the best locations the world has to offer en route.

The vessel is currently undergoing an extensive refit in a Turkish yard, and is made available for sale pre-works, with the full cost of rebuild estimated to be in the region of €2m.

Completed and ongoing works include a comprehensive inspection of the vessel’s electrical system together with the necessary rectification and modifications, renewal of existing wooden furniture, replacement of the ceilings, renewal of interior wall/side finishes, as well as various other interior and technical works. A new stern platform extension (3 metre) is also currently being installed.

The vessel arrived at the shipyard under her own power and in normal operational condition. The refit was not initiated as a result of any specific major failure or breakdown, but as part of a planned programme of refurbishment, maintenance and
upgrades.
